The American University of Sharjah was founded in 1997 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi; Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. Dr. Sultan envisaged the university as a leading educational institution in the Gulf region. It is an extremely diverse university that brings together over 6,000 students from more than 100 countries. BCG was responsible for one of the greatest construction achievements in Sharjah, the project’s built-up area is approximately 65,000 m2.

By dedicating over 2,000 workers to the project each month, the firm was able to meet the target completion period of 12 months. The exceptionally large campus consists of a main administrative building, six college buildings and the housing accommodation for students and staff. The main building has a large 28m diameter dome, deeming it the largest in the United Arab Emirates at the time of construction.

The new Engineering Sciences Building at the American University of Sharjah offers exceptional design solutions to house academic and administrative facilities for over four floors with a total built-up area of 21,600 m2. The new building’s state of the art facilities and constructions are designed to accommodate 2 auditoriums, 25 class rooms, 26 Engineering Labs, 9 meeting rooms,182 faculty and staff offices.
